Shanghai International Congress & Exhibition on Nutrition, Fitness and Health 2007 (Shanghai International Health Congress) was successfully held in Shanghai Exhibition Center during December 6-8, 2007.
Mr. Jin Xiaoming, Director of Department of International Cooperation, the Ministry of Science and Technology of P.R.C., Ms. Peng Yu, President of China Cancer Foundation, Mr. Sun Yao, Standing Committee member of the Heilongjiang Provincial CPC Committee, Ms. Zuo Huanchen, Vice Chairperson of CPPCC Shanghai Committee, and Ms. Xu Zuxin, Vice Director of Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, participated in the opening ceremony on the morning of December 6. Mr. Chen Zhu, Minister of the Ministry of Health, P.R.C. and Mr. Shang Yong, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology of P.R.C., both sent their congratulatory messages to NFH.
Centering on the main theme of “Health, Make Life Better!”, NFH consisted of 3 sections of the forum, the exhibition and the “Health Night”. The two-day forum composed of 9 seminars, at which 54 experts from 10 countries including Mr. Ricardo Uauy, President of International Union of Nutritional Sciences, Mr. Franco Viviani, President of International Council for Physical Activity and Fitness Research, Mr. Walter Willett, Academician of the National Academy of Science, USA, and Ms. Chen Chunming, Senior Consultant of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, delivered speeches, attracting nearly a thousand person-time audience. The exhibition covered an area of 5000 m2, where 112 international institutions, famous enterprises from home and abroad, and the health promotion institutions displayed their latest products and fruits in health fields. Among those exhibitors, there were the transnational companies and international institutions such as Roche, Kiyokawa, Harvard University, and Milan Chamber of Commerce for International Activities, the famous companies and institutions in Shanghai including Shanghai Ley’s Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, 4 Micro Tech Co., Ltd and Shanghai Health Education Institute, and more than 30 companies and institutions coming all the way from Heilongjiang Province, Jilin Province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Around one hundred Chinese and foreign guests took part in the activity of “Health Night” held in Linfen Community of Zhabei District, the “National Demonstration Community of the Harmonious Neighborhood Construction”.
