Huang Jianshi, Prof. in epidemiology and doctor tutor, graduated from the Clinical Medicine Department of Zhongshan Medical University in 1983 and obtained the Bachelor of Medicine. After working in the Ministry of Health for three years, he went for further study in the US and obtained three master degrees of different majors. During 1992-2003, he worked as epidemiologist and department head of the local health administration bureaus in three states of US and one province in Canada. Also he had teaching in eight universities in the US and Canada. In May 4th of 2003, invited by the officials of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Health, he returned China to jointly work for the control and treatment of SARS.
  Prof. Huang is now taking on the job of the health education, the research on the construction of the emergent response system of public health and the popular science articles writing. After coming back to China (2003-2008), he has published 49 papers and over 100 popular science articles in the Chinese and foreign academic periodicals.
  He has the administrative and social positions of Assistant to the President of the Chinese Academy of Medical Science, Assistant to the President of the Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Dean of the Public Health School, General Secretary of the Experts Committee of the Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Vice Chairman of Health Management Division of the Chinese Medical Association, Vice Chairman and Secretary of the Health Risk Evaluation nd Control Committee of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, Vice Chairman of the Health Management and the Doctor’s Health Insurance Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Vice President of the Beijing Health Education Association, Vice President of Beijing Health Care Association, Executive Director of the Chinese Health Education Association, and Executive Director of Beijing Medical Education Society, etc.
